Melissa & Jana are teaming up to bring you two workshops packed with Bible study and illustrated journaling techniques. You will learn a variety of creative lettering techniques, coloring and painting techniques, and how/when to combine creative lettering with other Bible journaling elements like die cuts, stickers, and washi tape. We’ll practice these techniques as we illustrate our faith in the margins of our Bibles.

You will receive a creative lettering booklet, journaling pen & other goodies in these workshops.

We will be working in a Journaling Bible, but feel free to bring any Bible and/or a journal to work in. Also, bring your favorite Bible journaling supplies to class & don’t forget a journaling pen!

Melissa Gross feels the Lord calling her to lead and encourage women in their walk with the Lord. She is a teacher by passion and by training and has taught everything from Children’s Church to the Young-at-Heart (elderly) Sunday School, from middle school technology classes to university level business courses. She is also an avid scrapbooker and has taught/coached in online and in-person scrapbooking, cardmaking, photo organization, mixed media, and illustrated Bible journaling classes. When she’s not teaching Bible Journaling workshops or gluing pretty pieces of paper together in her craft room, Melissa enjoys reading, cooking, blogging, and traveling. She lives in Texas with her best friend/husband, Robbie, and shares their everyday adventures and her latest scrapbooking and Bible Journaling projects on her blog: Daily Life – Bits & Pieces (www.melissagross.blogspot.com).

Jana Kennedy-Spicer is a wife, mom and Nana who is passionate about inspiring and encouraging women on their daily walk with Christ. A woman rescued and repaired by the grace of God, she loves to share about the realness of God's love, redemption and faithfulness. Who Is Esther?

The book of Esther in the Old Testament is the only book in the Bible that does not mention God. In this class, Melissa will share a teaching on who Esther is, the misfortunes she overcame, and how we are like her. She will then share tips and techniques for illustrating what we learn about Esther and how we can relate to her in our everyday life.

Esther’s Story

Esther’s story can rival any fiction thriller on the market – it has a hero, a heroine, a villain, a plot to overthrow the government, women's lib controversy, a nationwide beauty pageant, lots of eating, drinking & celebrating, a beautiful palace setting, irony, humor, intrigue, revenge, and suspense. In this class, Melissa will share a teaching on Esther’s story and its implications for our own lives. She will then share tips and techniques for illustrating what we learn about Esther’s story and how we can apply what we’ve learned to help us serve the Lord in our everyday life.

Join Melissa Gross at Personal Scrapbook for a 2½ hour class merging faith and art!

In this class, we’ll discuss Illustrated Bible Journaling, why and how to use a Journaling Bible (or a Worship Journal if you prefer), supply tips and tricks, various journaling styles and techniques, and where to find inspiration for your illustrated journaling.

Melissa will share sample pages in various Bibles and a journal and will demonstrate creating pages using pens, colored pencils, watercolors, water brushes and a variety of other products. She will share a devotional to help us dive into the Word and draw closer to the Lord. We’ll then take time to illustrate our faith in the margins of our Bible.

This class is perfect for anyone new or just getting started with Bible Journaling, as well as those who want to review the basics and spend time in the Word and with others who enjoy this meaningful and fun way of diving into the Word.
 

We will be working in a Journaling Bible, but feel free to bring any Bible and/or a journal to work in. Your class fee includes an Illustrated Faith You Rule Bible Mat and a Journaling Pen. Additional items needed to create will be provided.
